Valentine's Day

Our gig in DC was cancelled, so we stayed in Philly for an extra day. We went to the Mutter Museum, where we saw a lot of exhibits that predate ones like this from the Bodies Exhibit I photographed this past summer:

So there's a real heart for your Valentine's delectation.

I was allowed to photograph the case at the entry of the Mutter Museum, but nothing else:

It was a really touching experience. The museum is intended for medical students but is open to the general public, and it is in a beautiful old building and is curated with such a compassionate sense of humanity. It made the people who suffered from the diseases so real, and made the passions of the medical practitioners who attended and investigated them palpable. The wall of skulls moved me, and the conjoined twins too. It made me think about how if people are this different from each other physically, it's no wonder that they're so different emotionally and spiritually too.

After ward we went to a completely satisfying dinner at The Continental. I highly recommend spending Valentine's Day with a group of friends.
